VIP Soft Armor Wraparound T-Shirt
The best armor in the world does you no good if you don’t wear it, especially if it looks obvious or feels uncomfortable. That’s where the VIP Soft Armor Wraparound T-Shirt comes in. Designed for true concealment, the VIP Concealable Armor System looks like a normal t-shirt when worn under an outer garment such as a polo, dress shirt, sweatshirt, or jacket, while discreetly hiding Level IIIA+ rated NIJ-certified soft armor panels inside.
The carrier is constructed from a 2-way stretch Lycra material that gives where it matters most, creating a comfortable, lightweight support system for the custom soft armor panels. It is machine washable for easy care, while the USA-made armor panels are housed in integrated internal pouches sewn directly into the carrier. To wear it, you simply insert the armor panels, put the carrier on like a regular t-shirt, secure the front and rear cummerbund, and pull the shirt material down to fully conceal the armor. Once in place, the armor is ready to perform if the need arises.
Installing and wearing the VIP system is straightforward and intuitive. The Lycra material lifts to reveal the zippered armor pouches, where the front and rear panels are inserted with the labels facing inward toward the body. The panels secure firmly as the Velcro tabs mate with the Velcro inside the pouch, and the zipper closes to lock everything in place. The carrier is then worn like a standard t-shirt, with the elastic cummerbund left disconnected initially. Once positioned correctly, the cummerbund is secured to wrap the front panel wings around the rear panel and fastened to the Velcro on the back pouch area. Pulling the t-shirt material down over the pouches completes the concealment, and adding an outer garment ensures the armor remains deep cover.
In line with our belief that you shouldn’t buy more armor than you need, the soft armor panels used in the VIP T-Shirt are also compatible with our Freedom Concealable Carrier and All-Star Tactical Carrier. This gives you three different carry configurations using one single set of armor panels, maximizing versatility without unnecessary expense.

If you’re ever in an incident where your armor was used to save your life, we’ll replace it with new or equivalent armor. Simply send us a copy of the police report and a request for new armor, and we’ll contact you to make the arrangements.

Order Terms and Restrictions
- Body armor is legal to buy and own by anyone over 18 and who is not a convicted felon.
- Due to State regulations for New York and Connecticut, you must be a member of an eligible profession to purchase body armor. We cannot facilitate purchases to regular citizens in these states and we must have copies of your qualifying ID. Please contact sales@nationalbodyarmor.com for more information or to send a copy of your ID.
- ITAR and other regulations prohibit sales of our products outside of the United States. Also, we cannot ship to APO/FPO addresses.

In-stock items usually ship the same day. Made-to-order products take longer, but this ensures you receive armor with a fresh date of manufacture and a full 5-year warranty. We always prioritize quality over speed—these are life-saving products.
Why do some products have longer shipping times?
Unlike many resellers, we manufacture our armor here in the USA. Some companies ship imported, uncertified products that may have been sitting in warehouses for a year or more. We only ship newly made armor that carries a full warranty.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we export worldwide in compliance with U.S. laws. We are registered with the U.S. Department of State (Code M44107) and follow ITAR and FCPA regulations.
What is your Fit Guarantee?
If your order doesn’t fit, you may request a return within 10 days of delivery. You can exchange for the correct size, a different product, or store credit. Returns must be in new, unworn condition. Clearance items are final sale. Only one exchange per order is permitted.

What’s the difference between NIJ-compliant armor and non-compliant armor?
The NIJ (National Institute of Justice) sets the gold standard for ballistic testing. All National Body Armor products are Made in the USA and NIJ Compliant in approved labs. This ensures reliable performance and strict quality control. Non-compliant armor may be cheaper—but do you really want to gamble with your life?
What’s the highest level of armor I can buy?
- Soft armor: Level IIIA
- Hard armor plates: Level IV
What does “NIJ rating” mean?
It’s the NIJ’s performance standard for body armor. Certified products undergo rigorous testing and ongoing inspections. If armor fails compliance, it’s subject to recall.
Does it hurt to get shot while wearing a vest?
Yes. A vest saves your life, but the impact can still cause bruising, fractures, or internal trauma. The purpose of the armor is survival—not comfort.
Does body armor really work?

Can I buy armor for my kids?
We don’t offer child-sized vests. For students, we recommend ballistic backpack inserts (10"x12" or 11"x14").

Any adult (18+) can purchase armor, unless prohibited by state law or if convicted of a felony. No background check or federal registration is required.
Is body armor legal?
Yes, federally. However, New York and Connecticut require additional ID verification. Residents must provide proof of eligible profession as outlined by state regulations.
What is your warranty policy?
- Soft armor: 5 years
- Hard armor: 10 years
- Carriers (nylon covers): 12 months
- All warranties are valid under proper use, storage, and care.
How long does a vest last?
Soft armor should be replaced every 5 years, which is the industry standard life cycle.
How should I clean my armor?
- Carriers: Machine-washable.
- Ballistic panels: Wipe with soapy water and air-dry. Never machine wash, submerge, or expose panels to extreme heat or water.
How should I store my vest?
Lay flat in a cool, dry place. Avoid folding or storing upright for long periods.
Can I alter my vest?
No. Alterations or unauthorized repairs void the warranty.
